WHAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK?

Customer Service Week has been celebrated in the United States since 1988. In 1992, U.S. Congress proclaimed Customer Service Week a nationally recognized event, celebrated annually the first full week of October.   While not nationally recognized in Canada yet, thousands of businesses around the world, including Canada, have embraced the opportunity to celebrate, with the intent to raise awareness of the important role customer service professionals play within their organizations. 

WHY IS CUSTOMER SERVICE WORKS INVOLVED?

Our mandate and business focus is customer service.  We believe in the importance of customer service to business success, and want to play a role. Five years ago, we began to promote the week locally through a series of lunch and learns.  Four years ago in Calgary, we offered our first annual Celebrating Customer Service Excellence conference.  Not everyone can attend an in-person conference, and so we want to create a variety of opportunities for you to get valuable ideas on HOW to celebrate, to share your IDEAS with others, and simply to be part of a network of businesses who think the customer service experience is important enough to celebrate!
